Collectors, this is an excellent condition and early 4-digit serial number Sako Riihimaki made in 1951. Unused since the 1980s, always well cared for and regularly cleaned and carefully stored. They are well built too, it's interesting to check out the plugged barrel tests on the old Sako's, no burst. Return Policy: 3 day inspection and return policy on used guns and accessories. Sako Collectors Club search of records (photo) indicates rifle, serial 10182, was made in Finland and shipped to the United States in February of 1960. They can usually tell you when yours was built within a few months either way. I think the factory got tired of the inquiries and made a deal to move them to the collectors website as an archive. The Sako Collectors Forum is a great site for info on them, they obtained the Sako factory date/build records from back then.

Last time I checked zero on mine in 2020 it put 2 Barnes factory Vortx 150's into half an inch with this scope. Either way I kinda stuck that they're 60+ years old still in this kind of shape, and if you like walnut and deep bluing they're better than anything you can buy today in a 7# walk around hunter. rifle! I'd never read of long actions or magnums called Forester but Sako records from back then were a little sketchy. Sako serial number reference list Vltor T22 Sako rifle sako serial number reference list. With that low a number yours is probably about the same year as mine. Sako serial number reference list SK-93B SAKO MK13. The Sako long action magnums were first introduced in 1961 as the L61R Finnbear Magnum in 338 and the other mags of the time. Sako introduced their medium length 308 action In 1957 in 243, 244 and 308 in 59 they dropped the 244 and added the 22-250 and 7-08 and called it the L579 Forester until sometime into the 80's iirc. They are well built too, it's interesting to check out the plugged barrel tests on the old Sako's, no burst.
